These guided activities are prepared for foundation level students to help them expand their knowledge of English. Click on the name of the activity to download the teacher's guide and activity page. The activities are written in MSWord so you can adapt them to your classes' needs.
Animal World - In this activity, the students will be introduced to some of the endangered and threatened animals and their habitats in different continents around the world. They will be asked to present information to the class about the animal, its habitat, why it is endangered and how to improve its situation.
Biography - The students will be asked to prepare a biographical timeline that shows the highlights of that person's life, including a brief biography, pictures and a personal reflection on how that person has influenced society and / or the student's life.
Birthdays Are Special - The students will be asked to compare their personality traits, special abilities and interests, in order to find similarities or differences between their famous birthday partners and themselves.
Buildings Are Tall - In this activity the students will practise using comparative and superlative adjectives by comparing and contrasting the sizes of actual buildings and skyscrapers throughout the world.
Bullying - In this activity the students are going to read true stories and poems written by students from other countries about being bullied. They will be asked to react to these stories and poems as well as submit an on-line response.
Camping in the Negev - In this activity the students will choose a campsite in the Negev and plan a three-day itinerary including suggested treks, sites and prices for travel, supplies and lodgings.
Compare Two Countries - Some countries in the world may have large areas of land with small populations while other countries have large populations but little land. In this activity the students are going to compare various aspects of two countries.
Did It Happen in Your Lifetime? - The students will be asked to identify the year historical events happened and whether these events happened in their lifetime and or in their parents' lifetime.
Famous Local Landmarks - In this activity the students will choose a landmark from their community, research its history and find out what makes it so special.
Fun at the Museum - The students will prepare a brochure for a museum from somewhere around the world, highlighting the special features of that museum.
How Much Should You Eat? - Students will learn about the food groups and good eating habits. They will prepare a healthy menu.
I Was Robbed! - In this activity students will fill in a report about a robbery.
Kids Can Be Ecologists - In this activity the students will learn what ecology is and what an ecologist does to help the environment. The students will be asked to describe an environmental problem in their community and suggest how to solve it.
Kids Invent - Kids have a wonderful imagination and usually can always think "outside the box". In this activity the students will prepare a fact file of a young inventor.
Modern Communication Acronyms - In this activity the students will learn some of the more common acronyms used in email messages, chats and sms messages, and what they mean.
My Birthday in History - In this activity the students will find out about historical events which took place on the day or in the year they were born. They will be asked to prepare the front page of a newspaper depicting the historical events or important people born on their birth date or in the year they were born.
My Pet's Identity Card - In this activity students will prepare an identity card for their pet.
An Ordinary Hero - In this activity the students will learn about ordinary people whose heroic actions made them special. They will be asked to write or present to the class a description of their "ordinary hero".
Weather Report - In this activity the students will check the weather in different cities around the world and prepare a weather report.
Where Do You Get Information? - In this activity the students are going to conduct a survey to find out the different ways people get information.
Who Invented It and When? - The students will learn about inventors and their various inventions, some of which we use every day.
